Missle's flight computer features mission critical real-time capability, hardware-enforced isolation and real-time cryptographic acceleration. Castelion is working on integrating Blackbeard with the HIMARS missile platform. The company is building a solid-fuel rocket manufacturing facility in New Mexico to support large-scale production of hypersonic missiles. The company is founded by SpaceX veterans.

The company has already conducted tests at a NATO base, using a short-range missile to destroy a 2-meter (6.5-foot) drone traveling at 200 kilometers per hour (124 miles per hour).
